Olive Shoots is operated by Appstackly LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Olive Shoots apps and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Olive Shoots for families: we don’t show ads, we don’t sell your personal information, and the app contains no third-party advertising SDKs.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account you sign in with an email and password, or with Google or Apple. We receive your email address, your display name, and — if you provide one — a profile photo. If you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive a basic profile from that provider so we can create your account; we never receive your Google or Apple password.

Family content

To make Olive Shoots work we store the content you create: family and member names, calendar events and tasks, categories, completion history, point balances and rewards, settings, and any photos you add (such as member avatars). Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian — children do not have their own accounts and do not sign in.

Photos

If you choose to add a photo, the app asks permission to access your device’s photo library and stores the image you select in our secure cloud storage so it can sync across your family’s devices.

Connected calendars

You can optionally connect a Google Calendar so your existing events appear alongside your family’s schedule. This is entirely your choice — Olive Shoots works fully without it, and we never ask for it during sign-up. When you connect one, Google asks you to grant read-only calendar access, and we store: the email address of the Google account you connected (so the app can show you which account is linked), a refresh token that lets us keep the calendar up to date, the list of calendars you chose to display, and — for events on those calendars only — the event title, location and start and end times.

We request read-only access and nothing more. Imported events are display-only: Olive Shoots never creates, edits or deletes anything in your Google Calendar. We do not store event descriptions, guests or attachments. You can disconnect at any time from Calendar → Other calendars, which revokes our access at Google and deletes the stored token and every imported event.

Technical data

We process the minimal technical data needed to run the service, such as authentication tokens and basic request information. The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to measure usage in aggregate and diagnose crashes; it includes no advertising SDKs and does not track you across other apps or websites. Solely to measure our own advertising (see “Advertising measurement” below), the Android app collects the device advertising ID, and the iOS app uses Apple’s own Search Ads attribution service (no IDFA, no tracking prompt).

Feedback and surveys

From time to time the app may ask a parent a short question — for example, how likely they are to recommend Olive Shoots to a friend. Answering is optional and the question can be dismissed. If you answer, we store the score, any comment you choose to add, the app version, platform and language, and which family the answer came from, so we can read the answers together and improve the product. Feedback you email us is handled as a support request.

Website analytics

Our marketing website (oliveshoots.family) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visits (for example, how many people view a page), and — with consent where required — a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel that only records the page view. See “Cookies and analytics” below for the cookies involved and how to opt out.

How we use information

• To provide Olive Shoots and sync your family’s data across devices.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To respond to support requests and communicate about the service.
• To send a few onboarding emails after you create an account (a welcome, a check-in, tips for setting up a wall tablet); every one carries an unsubscribe link, and the setting is also in the app.
• To send a weekly report of what your children completed, on Sunday evenings; it is on by default, you can turn it off in the app’s settings, and it carries the same unsubscribe link.
• To prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your information, and Olive Shoots itself never shows you ads. We do use a limited set of data to measure whether our own advertising works — described in full under “Advertising measurement” below.

Advertising measurement

We advertise Olive Shoots on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google. To know whether those ads lead to sign-ups and purchases, we collect ad click identifiers (such as gclid and fbclid) when you arrive from an ad, keep them in a first-party cookie, and — if you create an account — store them with your account together with your IP address, browser information, and a one-way hashed version of your email address. We then report the sign-up or purchase to the ad platform it came from: Meta receives events through its Conversions API, and Google measures conversions through Google Analytics. Apple Search Ads attribution uses Apple’s own AdServices framework. On Android, the app reads the Google Play Install Referrer once, at sign-up: the same campaign tags and click identifiers, when the app was installed from a link on our website or from an ad. These platforms act on our behalf for measurement, though Meta may also use the data it receives for its own services as described in its privacy policy.

This measurement never involves your family’s content, never targets children (kiosk and child surfaces contain no tracking of any kind), and is never used to show ads inside Olive Shoots. In the EEA and UK the website asks for your consent before any of it runs; we honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a decline everywhere; and you can change your choice at any time via “Privacy choices” in the website footer.

Children’s privacy

Olive Shoots is designed to be set up and controlled by parents and guardians. Child profiles are created and managed entirely by the adult who owns the family account; children do not register, sign in, or provide information to us directly. Parents are responsible for the information they choose to enter about their children and can edit or delete it at any time. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies and analytics

The Olive Shoots apps do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The marketing website uses Google Analytics 4, which sets first-party cookies to measure traffic in aggregate. For advertising measurement the website also sets a first-party attribution cookie (os_attr, expires after 90 days) holding the ad click identifiers described above, and — with consent where required — the Meta pixel sets its cookies (such as _fbp). You can decline or withdraw via the consent banner and the “Privacy choices” footer link, use your browser’s cookie controls, or Google’s Analytics opt-out.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate Olive Shoots, and only as needed:

• Google Firebase / Google Cloud Platform — authentication, database, file storage, hosting, and serverless functions.
• Google and Apple — when you choose Google or Apple sign-in, to authenticate you (subject to their privacy policies).
• Stripe — Stripe processes payments for web checkout. We do not store full payment-card details.
• Meta Platforms and Google (advertising measurement) — the ad click identifiers, cookies, and hashed email described under “Advertising measurement”, shared solely so each platform can count the sign-ups and purchases its ads produced.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

Google user data and Limited Use

Olive Shoots’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In practice that means the calendar data described under “Connected calendars” is used only to show you your own events inside Olive Shoots. We do not sell it, we do not transfer it to anyone except the cloud infrastructure that runs the app on our behalf, we do not use it for advertising or advertising measurement, and no human at Appstackly reads it except where you have explicitly asked us to help with a support request, or where we are required to for security or by law.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data, subject to limited retention required for legal, security, or backup purposes.

Your rights and choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your information. Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below.

Account and data deletion

You can delete your account and your family’s data at any time by emailing us at support@appstackly.com from the address associated with your account. We’ll permanently remove everything and confirm by reply.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
